The holidays are a time to gather and celebrate with our families, friends, and communities. On November 25, please join the River City Gems as we kick off the holiday season with a pot luck dinner and celebration that is open to all.
The dinner will feature traditional Thanksgiving fare, including turkey and ham with all the trimmings. We will meet in Pilgrim Hall at the friendly and inviting Sierra Arden UCC, where there is plenty of privacy and ample convenient parking in two private lots.
Doors will open at 5:00pm for appetizers and socializing, and dinner will begin at 6:00pm. If you can’t make it until later, don’t worry – there will be plenty of food and good company still to be enjoyed before the evening ends at 9:00pm!
Many guests will be dressed in casual attire, but there is no reason you can’t wear something dressier if you prefer! Attending in male mode is perfectly fine and encouraged if it is more comfortable for you.
A main course of turkey with stuffing and gravy will be provided. We are asking each guest to bring a dish that serves 8 people. You can sign up to bring a traditional Thanksgiving side dish, or any dish of your choice. Appetizers, side dishes, and desserts are all appreciated! There is a large kitchen with refrigerated storage, plenty of counter space, and facilities for reheating – but please don’t bring anything that requires cooking or extensive on-site preparation.
Soft drinks and water will be provided. If you would like to enjoy wine or another adult beverage with your dinner, you are welcome to bring it with you.
In keeping with the open and welcoming spirit of this event, the cost is just $5 for all attendees, payable in cash or check at the door. All door fees we collect will be used to partially cover the cost of renting Pilgrim Hall.
To help us estimate the amount of food and drink needed, please RSVP by November 22.
You can RSVP by filling out the form below. An email confirmation will be sent to you after your RSVP is received.
